Cancer Information and Support Centre (CISC)

If you or someone you know is affected by cancer, you're not alone. The Cancer Information and Support Centre (CISC) is a free, confidential space located on Level 4 of the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre (BHOC), opposite the main reception. It's open to patients, families, carers, and staff and is run by a team of professional Macmillan Cancer Support Workers.

The team provides a warm, safe space where you can discuss your worries and concerns in person. They provide emotional and practical support, and can also offer free information in many languages and formats. The CISC also helps with referrals to the Macmillan Benefits Service at Citizens Advice Bristol and the Wig Service. More information on their services can be found below.

  • Wig Referrals & Wig Recycling

If you have been told you will lose your hair as a result of treatment, the BHOC will provide a new wig free of charge. To arrange this, you will need to call into the Cancer Information and Support Centre to discuss and to request a wig referral.

  • Head Start Room

We have a small shop selling headbands, hats and scarfs, second hand wigs, extra soft toothbrushes, thermometers and PICC covers for showering. You can find us in the reception area on Level 4.

  • Financial Support
